Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Los Angeles, CAShades of LA Archive/Los Angeles Public Library
Paul R. Williams designed the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church (261 North Bonnie Brae and Court Street) in 1922, one year after becoming a licensed architect in California. In the top photograph are the founding members of the church that was formed when 14 members of the Second Baptist Church broke away from that congregation. They are seen in front of the original church. The second photograph shows the new Paul R. Williams building.
